Baked Lamb Shank Recipe

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).


2. In a mixing bowl, add in the lamb shanks and season them with some salt and pepper. After that, rub the garlic over them.


3. Sprinkle the bottom of the roasting pan with celery, carrots, bay leaves and onion.


4. Add in the lamb shanks and season them with oregano and thyme.


5. Add in the tomatoes, water and olive oil.


6. Cover tightly and bake it for 150 minutes. Be sure to raise the temperature to 400°F (204°C) during the last hour of cooking.


7. Uncover the pan and add in the potatoes. Keep it uncovered and baste the potatoes often.
